Overview
Technical Program Manager to orchestrate the development of embedded products from silicon bring-up to software delivery, ensuring collaboration across hardware, firmware, and application teams.
What you'll do
- Manage project dependencies where code cannot be completed or tested until silicon, prototypes, or Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) simulators are ready.
- Mix Agile methodologies (for iterative driver features) with Waterfall milestones (aligned with rigid physical hardware tape-outs and manufacturing deadlines).
- Define alternative timelines if custom chips or silicon samples arrive late or display physical defects.
- Manage specialized engineers, e.g. separating the application layer team from the hardware abstraction layer team.
- Act as the translator between silicon vendors, hardware/board design engineers, and upper-level application software teams.
What you'll need
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science.
- 8+ years of total experience in embedded systems, including at least 8+ years in a technical leadership or project management role.
- Proven track record of designing, developing, and debugging device drivers.
- Hands-on experience with engineering tools such as Jira, Git, and CI/CD pipelines optimized for embedded testing.
- Depending on the sector, familiarity with functional safety mandates like ISO 26262 (Automotive), IEC 62304 (Medical), or MISRA C guidelines.
Nice to have
- Standard PM credentials such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or Certified ScrumMaster (CSM).
