Protection Commissioning Engineer

Overview

Protection Commissioning Engineer for the Grid Automation commissioning team, overseeing installation and commissioning of bay-level secondary equipment’s.

What you'll do

• Commission and troubleshoot bay-level secondary equipment’s for Middle East customers.
• Perform end-to-end relay testing and protection scheme testing.
• Set, configure, and test line differential, transformer differential, distance protection, backup & busbar protection relays.
• Lead configuration and testing of bay control unit testing and commissioning.
• Modify relay configuration at site using PCM software.
• Handle relay testing procedures, records, site acceptance test, customer meetings, and snag closure documentation.
• Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
• 8 to 15 years of experience in bay-level control & protection relay testing.
• Commissioning experience for retrofit and risk assessments.
• Good knowledge of power system technology.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Knowledge of switchgear interlock logic and relay block diagrams.
• Knowledge in handling Omicron test kit.
