Senior Service Engineer - Data Center

Overview

Senior Service Engineer responsible for servicing, maintaining, troubleshooting, commissioning, and optimizing air-cooled and water-cooled chiller systems in data centre environments. The role also supports HVAC project execution, customer communication, and technical guidance for junior personnel.

What you'll do

• Service and maintain screw, scroll, and centrifugal chillers.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and controls-related HVAC faults.
• Perform chiller start-up, commissioning, testing, and optimization.
• Coordinate data centre cooling project execution and contractor activities.
• Support upgrades, retrofits, and energy-efficiency improvements.
• Prepare service reports, performance logs, root-cause analyses, and 8D reports.
• Communicate with customers and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and technicians.

What you'll need

• 5–10 years of hands-on experience servicing air-cooled and water-cooled chillers.
• Diploma or bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a relevant technical field.
• Knowledge of refrigeration cycles, HVAC controls, BMS/EMS integration, and cooling redundancy.
• Experience in HVAC project execution, installation supervision, and commissioning.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and equipment manuals.
• Proficiency in diagnosing faults with service tools and diagnostic software.
• Ability to work independently in critical data centre environments.

Nice to have

• Experience with mission-critical data centres or large industrial cooling systems.
• OEM-specific chiller training or certifications.
• Knowledge of energy-efficiency programs, retrofits, and system optimization.
• Project management experience or certification.

Details

• Work mode: On-site, five days per week.
• Location stated in the description: Mumbai/Navi Mumbai.
• Monthly MOR and quarterly QBR meetings with data centre customers are required.
