Python AI Engineer

Overview

Python AI Engineer to support the development and integration of generative AI solutions for Citi’s Controls Technology team.

What you'll do

• Build and integrate generative AI applications using pre-trained and hosted foundation models.
• Implement context engineering workflows using system instructions, retrieved knowledge, tool definitions, and conversation memory.
• Develop Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) components including chunking, embeddings, and semantic/keyword search.
• Contribute to knowledge graph and Graph RAG pipelines for grounded, traceable responses.
• Help develop agentic workflows using tool-calling and basic planning/memory via frameworks such as Google ADK, LangGraph, or CrewAI.
• Support deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of GenAI and agentic applications in production.

What you'll need

• Python proficiency for GenAI development, data preprocessing, and scripting.
• Understanding of core generative AI concepts including foundation models/LLMs, tokenization, embeddings, and context windows.
• Hands-on prompt engineering experience.
• Experience building RAG systems with chunking, vector databases, and semantic search.
• Familiarity with knowledge graphs and interest in Graph RAG.
• Exposure to agentic AI development with tool-using agents or multi-step workflows.
• Basic understanding of agent concepts including session/state management, memory, and guardrails.
