QA Analyst

Overview

As a QA Developer, you will work as part of a product development team to meet sprint or release goals. You will ensure software quality through automation tests, exploratory testing, and manual tests, while helping improve software usability, performance, and development processes.

What you'll do

• Create and run automated test scripts to verify new software features based on user story acceptance tests.
• Understand the industry served and requirements for new product features.
• Create and/or contribute to software test cases.
• Prepare testing activities, including installing or deploying software, creating or maintaining databases with appropriate test data, and completing other required test setup.
• Maintain and run automated regression test scripts to verify existing features in new software releases.
• Perform manual smoke tests of new software builds to ensure basic functionality.
• Perform manual exploratory tests to verify additional software scenarios or paths.
• Log software bugs in a bug tracking tool with appropriate recreation steps.
• Verify bugs resolved by developers.
• Track and report testing results and metrics using appropriate tools.
• Investigate and troubleshoot issues identified or logged by clients or services teams.
• Independently resolve issues resulting from bad data or improper software use or configuration and identify potential workarounds.
• Design and implement high-quality automation tests within assigned timeframes.
• Write test plans and test the product thoroughly for release to users.
• Participate in sprint and release planning, including defining tasks and providing estimates.

What you'll need

• Maximum 2 years' experience.
• Strong software testing experience, preferably in commercial software.
• Good knowledge of the software development lifecycle and software quality assurance.
• Experience creating test plans and test cases or scripts.
• Experience managing the bug lifecycle and proficiency in at least one bug tracking tool.
• Experience working with an Agile software development process.
• Experience working with SQL and databases.
• Ability to work well with business analysts, developers, and end users in a cross-functional team.
• Experience creating scripts for automated testing.
• Proficiency in at least one test automation tool, such as Cypress or Selenium.
• Experience with API testing using Postman, Newman, GraphQL.
• Strong collaboration and verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to be a self-starter, detail-oriented, organized, and thorough.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a customer service-oriented mindset.
• Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks well with little supervision.
• Flexibility in working under changing and different work settings.
• Undergraduate degree.
• Ability to walk, stand, sit, kneel, push, stoop, reach above the shoulder, grasp, pull, bend repeatedly, climb stairs, identify colors, hear with aid, see, write, count, read, speak, analyze, lift and carry under 30 lbs., and perceive depth.

Nice to have

• Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio, Azure Dev Ops, and/or Test Manager.
