R&D Associate Engineer

Overview

R&D Associate Engineer role focused on initiating and driving technology/product/solution development using in-depth technical expertise.

What you'll do

• Act as the first point of contact in Research and Development (R&D) for product or technology issues.
• Lead should-cost/Integrated Material Cost Out (IMCO) project definition via cross-functional workouts with internal teams and vendors.
• Validate product design changes and implement manufacturing readiness to support product launch.
• Ensure designs meet industrial electrical distribution needs and standards including UL, IEC, and ANSI.
• Develop and test product qualification, certification, and reliability requirements.
• Troubleshoot failures and perform root cause analysis for design concept failures.
• Run cost analysis to identify key cost drivers for long-term cost reduction.

What you'll need

• Minimum 2–5 years of experience working as a self-starter.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or higher.
• Demonstrated engineering analysis and design execution success.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes including PBCA, plastic injection molding, sheet metal, tooling, castings, and forgings.
• Exposure to LV/MV circuit breakers and switchgear, including product design & development and value engineering.
• Working knowledge of CAD software and costing tools (aPriori).
• Strong organization, analytical, and communication skills with ability to influence and drive change/results.
