R & D Software Engineer

Overview

Work as an R & D Software Engineer and key member of a development team building, testing, and supporting leading-edge security products for API Management & Observability using Agile practices.

What you'll do

• Define, develop, and evolve software in a fast-paced and agile development environment.
• Lead features end to end from incubation to delivery.
• Understand product requirements and vision.
• Work with tech leaders and architects to develop implementation plans.
• Drive world-class quality in the development and support of products.
• Strive to be subject-matter experts of complex systems.
• Apply principles of Software Development Life Cycle and methodologies like Agile, Continuous Integration, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, refactoring, and Testing Techniques.
• Understand performance parameters and assess application performance.
• Share information proactively across the team with the appropriate level of detail and timeliness.
• Work with junior engineers to mentor, review code, and set up best practices, tools, and frameworks.
• Use AI-driven designing, implementing, testing, and supporting of security products on API Management & Observability.
• Use AI Spec-driven development methodologies like Plan/BMAD mode to map out and implement all phases of the SDLC.
• Create and maintain reusable skills and contexts across multiple teams and repositories.
• Manage multi-agent workflows for complex, multi-step engineering tasks such as new capabilities, codebase refactoring, upgrades, and vulnerability patching.
• Critically review AI-generated code for architectural alignment, design, and performance bottlenecks.

What you'll need

• B.Tech, B.E, M.Tech, or M.E.
• 8+ years of experience.
• Expertise in Java, including Core and Enterprise, and related technologies.
• Expertise in container technologies such as Helm, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Expertise in any cloud service such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Expertise in RESTful web services.
• Good understanding of React or similar technologies.
• Good understanding of scalable distributed systems.
• Good understanding of data structures and algorithms.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Expertise in using AI Code Assist tools such as Claude and Cursor as coworkers and not as prompt engineers.
• Good understanding of AI Spec-driven development methodologies like Plan/BMAD mode.
• Understanding of Context Engineering and Token Optimization techniques.
• Understanding of Agent Orchestration.

Nice to have

• MySQL and cloud databases.
• Linux, including Debian, RHEL, and others.
• Secure coding practices and understanding of OWASP and OAuth.
• Protocols including HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, SFTP, and GraphQL.
