Safeguards Enforcement Analyst, Ban Evasion & Recidivism

Overview

As a Safeguards Enforcement Analyst on the account abuse team, you’ll build and run enforcement workflows to detect and mitigate potential harm, with an initial focus on ban evasion and recidivism.

What you'll do

• Investigate ban evasion clusters end to end from signals to linked actor networks.
• Turn investigation findings into durable systemic controls and detection proposals.
• Operationalize re-registration controls for high-severity ban populations.
• Partner with Engineering and Data Science on account-linking signals across identities.
• Build a recidivism measurement framework (how often banned actors return and how fast you catch them).
• Author playbooks for contractor-supported evasion review and QA against a gold standard.

What you'll need

• Experience investigating ban evasion, multi-accounting, or repeat fraud actors on platforms with adversarial users.
• Fluency in SQL and comfort analyzing large account and event datasets.
• Experience working with fraud or identity-linking signals and understanding precision/recall tradeoffs.
• Rigor about evidence standards, including the asymmetric cost of false positives in severe-harm enforcement.
• Ability to convert one-off investigations into repeatable detection logic and policy.
• Strong written communication skills for briefs and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Excellent judgment and collaboration while prioritizing rapidly evolving workstreams.

Details

• Annual salary range: $245,000–$285,000 USD.
• Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
• Work mode: hybrid policy with staff expected to be in an office at least 25% of the time.
