Job description

Overview

Systems engineering role responsible for product safety engineering, regulatory standards, risk mitigation, compliance, and certification activities for equipment and devices, including work across Imaging modalities.

What you'll do

  • Design, develop, and practically implement product safety engineering methodologies and techniques for equipment and devices.
  • Execute processes to identify and mitigate safety risks inherent to product designs to an acceptable level.
  • Conduct safety risk assessments and hazard evaluations.
  • Utilize human factors principles to drive design improvements and eliminate human error in product operation and maintenance in the field.
  • Review and understand applicable legally required standards in the countries relevant to the products.
  • Communicate standards to the design community and maintain them.
  • Participate with independent third parties in product compliance and certification work, including testing and design review.
  • Communicate compliance and certification results and actions to relevant engineering and supply chain teams.
  • Interact with outside engineering firms or governmental agencies to provide or record product compliance with required regional or national standards.
  • Support product certification or qualification.
  • Execute policy and strategy using technical experience, analytical thinking, and knowledge of best practices.
  • Propose solutions outside set parameters for more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety or interdependent production cycles.
  • Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
  • Lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements.
  • Explain information and develop skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within the field.

What you'll need

  • Advanced experience in Engineering/Technology and Technical Regulations and Standards.
  • Knowledge comparable to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
  • Expert-level skills in collaborating with different stakeholders, influencing decisions, and taking a strategic view.
  • Demonstrated execution in meeting project goals while satisfying quality, performance, and schedule requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including evaluating information/data to make decisions, anticipating obstacles, and developing plans to resolve them.
  • Experience working across Imaging modalities.
