Salesforce Integration Architect

Overview

Design and govern Salesforce integration architecture that connects Salesforce with enterprise and third-party systems, ensuring secure, scalable, and maintainable data flow.

What you'll do

• Define integration strategy and patterns between Salesforce and external systems (real-time, batch, event-driven).
• Select integration approaches per use case using APIs, Platform Events, Change Data Capture, Bulk API, and middleware options.
• Architect solutions using Salesforce integration capabilities such as Apex callouts, Named Credentials, External Services, Platform Events, and Streaming API.
• Design API management including versioning, throttling, security (OAuth 2.0, JWT), and error handling/retries.
• Own end-to-end integration documentation such as sequence diagrams, data flow diagrams, and interface control documents.
• Set monitoring, logging, and alerting standards and perform/load testing to troubleshoot production integration issues.
• Guide governance for API reuse to avoid point-to-point sprawl.

What you'll need

• 10-15+ years experience in integration/enterprise architecture.
• 5+ years experience on Salesforce.
• Strong grasp of Salesforce APIs including REST, SOAP, Bulk, Streaming, and Platform Events.
• Experience with at least one enterprise middleware/iPaaS platform.
• Solid understanding of authentication/authorization protocols (OAuth, SAML, JWT).
• Experience integrating Salesforce with ERPs (SAP, Oracle), marketing platforms, or custom systems.
• Strong grasp of event-driven architecture and microservices concepts.

Nice to have

• Preferred experience with API-led connectivity / layered architecture (System, Process, Experience APIs).
• Exposure to Salesforce Data Cloud integrations, Heroku, or AWS/Azure integration services.
• Relevant middleware certification (e.g., MuleSoft, Boomi) is a plus.
