Security Master Business Analyst, Senior Associate

Overview

Senior Associate Business Analyst in the Alpha Data Services practice, focused on the operational management, reconciliation and support of the Security Master platform and the accurate synchronization of security master data across Front, Middle and Back Office systems.

What you'll do

• Conduct gap analysis to evaluate client requirements against project scope and the standard product offering.
• Monitor and support the end-to-end security synchronization lifecycle.
• Support the synchronization of security records across State Street platforms and maintain data integrity and consistency across all consuming platforms.
• Monitor exception dashboards and operational queues.
• Investigate security creation failures, synchronization issues and processing exceptions.
• Manage daily production support activities and operational health checks.
• Perform root cause analysis for security exceptions.
• Identify automation opportunities and process enhancements.
• Assist with testing, implementation and production validation of new SMF Sync releases.
• Support onboarding of new clients and operating model enhancements.
• Document detailed operating procedures, including workflows and process roles and responsibilities, as part of core product evolution.
• Ensure risks, assumptions and constraints are appropriately communicated and escalated when necessary.
• Conduct regular reviews and updates of process documentation to ensure accuracy and relevance.
• Provide support and training to team members on new processes and systems.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, economics or a related field.
• Proven experience over 5 years as a Business Analyst, preferably in the asset management industry with a focus on Security Mastering, price and security reference data.
• Strong understanding of asset management operations and financial products.
• Proficiency in process mapping and documentation tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality documentation.

Nice to have

• Experience with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance in asset management.
• Familiarity with data analysis tools and software (e.g., SQL, Excel).
• Technical knowledge in Security Master Data Management, Reference Data Operations, Financial Instruments and Security Identifiers, Production Support and Incident Management, Data Quality Controls and Reconciliation Processes.
• Functional knowledge of Equity, Fixed Income and other asset classes.
• Analytics skills in root cause analytics, data investigation, exceptions resolution, process optimization and risk assessment.
