Self Service Reporting - Business Analyst, Officer

Overview

Self Service Reporting Business Analyst role within State Street's Alpha Services Client Reporting Team, designing, developing and supporting reports and dashboards for Investment Management clients.

What you'll do

• Participate in the design, development and support of reporting and dashboards for State Street Alpha Services.
• Perform end to end requirement analysis and support dashboards and reporting for State Street Investment Management Services.
• Participate in projects in design, implementation and testing of dashboards and reports.
• Work with operations, client and technology to deliver various projects.
• Develop data and functional requirements and assist in the creation of related estimates and dashboards/reports using different source applications.
• Participate in information delivery and business intelligence strategy sessions.
• Complete data analysis, profiling and data mappings.
• Interface with data experts and data sourcing resources, assist in the data validation process and write queries.
• Assist in the development of conceptual and logical data models with appropriate business contexts.
• Perform data gap analysis on complex financial data.
• Serve as a subject matter expert across the organization and assist users with ad hoc dashboard/report construction queries and research issues on existing data, query tools and reports.
• Ensure project activity is customer focused, results oriented, performance driven and in compliance with all applicable internal and external requirements.
• Employ analytical, conceptual and creative thinking skills to improve performance.
• Support user training, documentation and rollout.
• Maintain effective working relationships with organizational team and clients.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, MIS, Information Technology or related field of study.
• Demonstrated excellence in business writing, development of business process flow diagrams, making comparisons regarding current and future processes, and effective communication.
• 8+ years of experience analyzing, designing and developing reports and dashboards using BI tools.
• Expertise in analysis, design and implementation of reporting and visualization (dashboards) using BI suites such as Jasper, WebFocus, Actuate, eSpreadsheet, etc.
• Experience working with large scale data warehouse solutions, data modeling and designing data marts.
• Experience in data governance models and data quality implementation techniques.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and experience in query performance optimization.
• Experience working with complex data sets and implementing complex business logic to provide intelligence reporting solutions, and performing data gap analysis on complex financial data.
• Intimate knowledge of Interactive Report Designer (IRD) and IBI WebFocus.
• Hands-on experience in data analysis and querying using the Snowflake cloud data platform, including writing and optimizing complex SQL queries, working with large structured and semi-structured datasets, and validating data quality.
• Ability to analyze query execution, troubleshoot data issues, and improve query performance and compute efficiency in Snowflake.
• Familiarity with Snowflake concepts such as virtual warehouses, databases, schemas, roles, stages, views and secure data access.
• Expertise in designing and developing reports and dashboards using BI suites.
• Ability to articulate basic project methodology concepts using either SDLC or Agile.
• Ability to analyze entity-relationship diagrams and logical data models to validate design against requirements.
• Ability to write SQL code for strong data analysis through queries, data profiling and data validation exercises.
• Familiarity with financial reporting, business intelligence and data warehousing principles.
• Understanding of BI/reporting tool architecture, functions and features.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills for diverse audiences, with excellent facilitation.

Nice to have

• Knowledge in Big Data platforms and cloud technologies.
