Senior Accounting Specialist - ATR (US Shift)

Overview

Senior Accounting Specialist in the ATR function at APM Terminals, responsible for end-to-end accounting processes with a focus on quality and an optimized ATR process, aligned to group accounting standards and internal controls.

What you'll do

• Manage accounting-to-reporting activities end to end according to global standard processes.
• Prepare monthly group reporting and journal uploads.
• Maintain the fixed asset register and manage fixed asset related transactions.
• Prepare budgeting and quarterly forecasts.
• Performance manage ATR-related KPIs and propose how gaps and improvements can be made.
• Prepare annual group reporting.
• Review and analyze the P&L monthly.
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliation and documentation according to the baseline and internal controls.
• Manage and report intercompany transactions.
• Support management with ad hoc financial reports.
• Resolve audit queries.
• Manage stakeholders on accounting and reporting queries.
• Manage data in the ATR domain: request, assess impact and follow up on resolutions.
• Ensure effective execution and documentation of internal finance controls, baseline controls and ATR governance.
• Work cross-functionally with teams in GSC, locally and globally to maintain and improve internal controls and performance management.

What you'll need

• B.Com or M.Com.
• 6-8 years of experience in a GL/ATR function.
• Well versed in and good understanding of group accounting policies, guidelines and the control framework.
• Excellent Excel skills.
• Familiar with MS Outlook and the internet.
• Good communication skills; able to communicate independently with stakeholders via email, telephone, etc.
• Good personal attributes: mature, confident and a team player.

Nice to have

• Prior experience working on an ERP system.
