Senior Automation Engineer-Assistant Vice President

Overview

Senior Automation Engineer (Assistant Vice President) responsible for participating in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team, contributing to applications systems analysis and programming activities.

What you'll do

• Monitor and control all phases of the development process, including analysis, design, construction, testing, and implementation, and provide user and operational support on applications to business users.
• Utilize in-depth specialty knowledge of applications development to analyze complex problems/issues, evaluate business processes, system processes, and industry standards, and make evaluative judgements.
• Recommend and develop security measures in post-implementation analysis of business usage to ensure successful system design and functionality.
• Consult with users/clients and other technology groups on issues, recommend advanced programming solutions, and install and assist customer exposure systems.
• Ensure essential procedures are followed and help define operating standards and processes.
• Serve as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts.
• Operate with a limited level of direct supervision, exercising independence of judgement and autonomy.
• Implement scalable solutions for complex problems in the quality engineering space.
• Collaborate closely with global BA, DEV and QA teams for efficient test planning, test design, and coordination of test efforts between global teams.
• Mentor junior resources and provide guidance and feedback on automation implementations.
• Manage projects independently with a go-getter mindset.
• Maintain a very good understanding of continuous test execution in lower environments and create feedback loops to improve scripts and the quality of tests.
• Learn and implement best industry practices into the QE space.
• Act as SME to senior stakeholders and/or other team members.
• Work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements.
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years working in a SCRUM or Agile engineering environment.
• Financial Services industry background working on Onboarding platforms.
• Hands-on knowledge in programming and implementations, preferably in Java and Selenium.
• In-depth understanding of data patterns, data validations and various databases including SQL.
• Demonstrable knowledge of script-level automation using Java and Selenium.
• Hands-on expertise in UI automation using industry standard tools like Selenium.
• Expertise in setting up test plans and test strategy for Quality Engineering projects.
• Expertise in JIRA, Zephyr, Confluence and SharePoint usage.
• In-depth understanding of Postman and SOAP UI for API testing.
• Demonstrable knowledge of Java, Selenium, SOAP UI, SQL, jUnit, BDD and JIRA.
• Strong working experience with both Selenium and API automation.
• Proven track record in successful automation of systems with complex architecture.
• Experience in automating complex applications with multi-tier architecture and dynamic data flow between upstream and downstream systems.
• Experience in building automation framework from scratch and implementing BDD framework.

• Experience of managing multiple teams.
