Overview
This is an end-to-end ownership role for a Senior Business Analyst accountable for the business-facing thread of an automation or AI initiative, from first stakeholder conversation to post-production stabilisation.
What you'll do
- Lead structured discovery workshops, stakeholder interviews, job shadowing and process walkthroughs with business SMEs to capture the true operating process, including exceptions, workarounds and undocumented tribal knowledge.
- Perform automation feasibility and complexity assessment, qualifying or disqualifying candidate processes against standardisation, rule-clarity, volume, stability and data-quality criteria, and recommend against automation where the business case does not hold.
- Build the business case by quantifying AS-IS effort, volumes, FTE cost, error rates and cycle times, and model expected benefit, ROI, payback period and effort estimate for client sponsors.
- Capture process metrics and prepare the Process Qualification / Assessment output, including pipeline prioritisation where candidates compete for delivery capacity.
- Use Process Mining and Task Mining outputs where available to validate stated process behaviour against actual system event data.
- Conduct deep-dive As-Is analysis to design optimized To-Be states, architected for peak efficiency and not just automated.
- Author comprehensive Process Design Documents (PDDs) and partner on Solution Design Documents (SDDs) for logic clarity and traceability.
- Produce end-to-end process maps and flow diagrams (BPMN / Visio / Lucid) covering the happy path, every business and system exception, and the defined handling for each.
- Define and baseline functional and non-functional requirements, acceptance criteria, business rules, data dictionaries, input/output specifications and in-scope / out-of-scope boundaries, and drive formal sign-off from the process owner before build.
- Own the Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM) so every requirement is traceable through design, build, test case and production release.
- Identify and document AS-IS to TO-BE re-engineering opportunities, eliminating waste before automating.
- Contribute to pre-sales and solutioning activity, including prospect discovery, effort estimation and proposal input where required.
- Own deliverables including the Process Assessment / Qualification Document and ROI business case, process maps, PDD and SDD contribution, requirements specification, test strategy, test cases, UAT pack and closure report, exception handling and business continuity procedure, training material, SOPs and user guides, support runbook, escalation matrix, knowledge-transfer pack, and post-implementation benefit realisation report.

- At least 2 years in a senior or lead analyst capacity.
- Proven understanding of modern AI architectures, including designing workflows that incorporate LLMs, API integrations, and unstructured data processing.
- Demonstrable expertise in authoring rigorous PDDs and collaborating on SDDs with strict traceability.
- Strong track record operating within Agile frameworks as the translation layer between executive business stakeholders and technical engineering pods.
- Specific exposure to UiPath.
