Sr Business Analyst - IT Workday

Overview

Senior Business Analyst supporting Micron's Workday HCM applications, working with HR stakeholders on configuration, support and new requirements within Agile or Waterfall project teams.

What you'll do

• Support the HCM work stream, driving decisions and recommending best practices related to Workday functionality.
• Identify strategies, risks and options, and recommend approaches and mitigations to meet functional requirements.
• Configure and test the Workday system.
• Research and resolve day-to-day Workday issues.
• Work with business teams to support new requirements in Workday.
• Create and update Workday configurations based on requirement changes.
• Analyze Workday updates and provide recommendations to the business.
• Provide support for payroll processes, posting, bank transfer and pay checks in Workday.
• Provide support for year-end activities and legal and regulatory reports in Workday.
• Provide support for various payroll interfaces in Workday.
• Provide support to the core HCM application.
• Provide the Project Manager with regular status updates.
• Work within cross-functional teams (HR areas, project teams, PMO) to drive successful deployments.
• Participate in new functionality estimation, analysis, design and development of application requirements.
• Apply AI capabilities to analyze Workday business processes, configuration, reporting, integrations and operational issues.
• Leverage AI to develop test scenarios, positive and negative test cases, regression coverage and release-impact analysis.
• Critically validate AI-generated recommendations and maintain human accountability for configuration, design, testing and production decisions.

What you'll need

• Minimum of 5 years of direct, hands-on experience in Workday.
• Workday Certification.
• Hands-on Workday experience in Core HCM, Recruiting, Onboarding, Time and Absence, and Compensation.
• 3+ years of HCM experience, most recently in a Senior Analyst, Consultant, or similar level role.
• Deep understanding of Human Resources processes and master data.
• Strong systems thinking and problem-solving capability.
• Self-motivated and outcome oriented.
• Capability to build strong rapport with customer groups.
• Experience collaborating with team members to drive results.
• Ability to work independently with short deadlines.
• Strong communication skills (written, verbal and presentation).
• Education: B.Tech./M.Tech./MCA/B.S./B.B.A. in Information Systems, Computer Science, or industry-related curriculum, or equivalent work experience.

Nice to have

• Experience or knowledge of Learning and Benefits in Workday.
• Working knowledge of AI agents, workflow automation, APIs/MCP concepts, and opportunities to integrate AI with enterprise platforms such as Workday.
• Understanding of responsible AI principles, data privacy, security, access controls, and appropriate handling of sensitive HR/employee information when using AI tools.
