Senior Coder - ED Facility with EM & Injection & Infusion

Overview

Senior coder role in the Coding OP (India) team at Guidehouse, assigning ICD-10-CM, CPT and HCPCS codes to medical diagnoses and procedures for an ED with EM & Injection & Infusion work types.

What you'll do

• Accurately transform medical diagnoses and procedures into ICD-10-CM, CPT and HCPCS codes.
• Turn around daily coding volumes allotted to the team accurately within the specified turnaround time.
• Check input volumes allotted by the Team Lead and report coding as per client guidelines and coding guidelines, maintaining operational quality and productivity.
• Interact regularly with the Team Lead and act on feedback.
• Understand in detail the workflow, procedures and specific criteria for the assigned client.
• Meet the monthly target with above 95% accuracy consistently.
• Attend weekly QA and team meetings without fail and respond in two-way communication with the Quality Analyst and Team Lead.

What you'll need

• Any life science, paramedical graduate or post graduate.
• Minimum 2+ years of experience.
• Strong ability to interpret medical records of patients in different specialties.
• Certified from AAPC or AHIMA (CPC, COC, CCS).
• Ability to communicate, with excellent interpersonal, listening and organizational skills.
• Ability to work with speed and accuracy.
• Good analytic skills and expertise to be proficient in accurately coding medical records using ICD-10-CM and CPT conventions, especially emergency room coding, ED with EM & Injection & Infusion work types.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Knowledge of coding software such as 3M, Encoder Pro.
