Overview
Senior Commercial Manager (India) based in Mumbai, reporting to the Commercial Director, India & Middle East, and working closely with various teams across the Asia Pacific region.
What you'll do
- Provide commercial leadership, guidance, and advice on commercial and contract issues across the full lifecycle of data centre developments.
- Negotiate complex contracts and manage contractual documentation domestically and internationally.
- Lead commercial development reporting and administration for the region with governance and accuracy to stakeholders.
- Support procurement and contract strategies for existing and new hyperscale developments in India.
- Review customer contracts, develop risk management strategy, and manage cost/claims across in-flight projects.
- Resolve contract interpretation issues and disputes while balancing both parties’ objectives.
- Travel to domestic and international data centre sites for project initiation, reviews, audits, commissioning, and closeout as required.
What you'll need
- Minimum of 10 years’ work experience in the construction industry.
- Relevant degree such as Law, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering (or similar).
- Strong understanding of contract management and administration and contract law.
- Strong communication, negotiation, contract drafting, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated success directing and influencing multi-disciplinary teams, consultants, and contractors.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and exposure to online collaboration tools.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain high quality standards.
Nice to have
- Experience in the India construction market, including local partnerships, supply chain constraints, and regulatory approvals.
- Experience in hyperscale, data centre, or fast-track design and construct environments.
- Postgraduate qualifications in law, business, or management.
- Experience managing large-scale contracts (greater than USD $1bn equivalent).
