Overview
The Senior Cyber Security Engineer leads complex security testing initiatives across applications, networks, and infrastructure. The role executes advanced assessments, validates remediation, guides root cause analysis, and mentors security engineers.
What you'll do
- Conduct security assessments and penetration tests to identify vulnerabilities.
- Recommend corrective measures to secure systems and protect digital assets.
- Embed security testing throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain security testing tools and methodologies.
- Analyze security incidents and report their nature, impact, and scope.
- Monitor emerging threats and adapt security protocols and testing strategies.
- Partner with engineering, architecture, DevOps, and risk stakeholders to identify design gaps.
What you'll need
- 5–8 years of experience in information security, IT audit, risk management, or a related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, information technology, computer science, or equivalent relevant work experience.
- Experience with penetration testing.
- Experience with vulnerability assessments.
- Experience with security incident response.
- Experience with threat modeling and cyber threat intelligence.
- Experience with risk analysis, compliance, and risk management.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in cybersecurity, information technology, computer science, or a related field.
- CISSP certification.
- CISA certification.
- GSEC, Security+, or GCIH certification.
- 8+ years of experience in a related field.
