Senior Data Engineer

Overview

Senior Data Engineer (fully remote for candidates based in Brazil) responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and supporting data-driven decision-making.

What you'll do

• Design and maintain secure, reliable, high-performing data pipelines for scalable data processing.
• Improve internal processes by identifying automation opportunities and contributing to infrastructure redesign.
• Ensure data quality in collaboration with cross-functional technical stakeholders.
• Support prioritization, estimation, and planning with project managers and product owners.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide constructive feedback to teammates.
• Research and adopt new technologies, libraries, frameworks, and best practices for the data team.
• Consider accessibility impacts in how data work is implemented.

What you'll need

• At least 3 years of experience as a Data Engineer.
• Education in BSc, MSc, and/or PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, CS, or a related subject.
• Hands-on experience developing and optimizing data pipelines.
• Experience with databases, data modeling projects, and practical SQL usage.
• Experience in a general-purpose programming language such as Python or Scala.
• Experience participating in the design and development of data architectures.

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), big data tools (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka), and orchestration tools like Airflow.
• Experience with NoSQL databases, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and Agile methodologies.

• Work mode: fully remote for candidates based in Brazil; office work is available for those based in São Paulo or Porto Alegre on a flexible schedule.
