Senior Design Liaison Engineer (DLE) - Mechanical

Overview

Senior Design Liaison Engineer (DLE) - Mechanical for DLE-Hot Gas Path (HGP). You will lead technical analysis, guidance, and mentorship for DLE-HGP and combustion component design support across global teams and manufacturing shops.

What you'll do

• Perform studies and analysis assessments for turbine components using engineering principles and business requirements.
• Lead resolution of critical manufacturing issues for HGP/combustion components and implement systemic improvements.
• Provide technical guidance and mentor the DLE HGP team as a primary technical reviewer for dispositioning deviant hardware.
• Analyze and disposition hardware deviations and oversee second source supplier qualifications.
• Serve as the regional Single Point of Contact (SPOC) to drive quality and continuous improvement with internal shops and external suppliers.
• Partner with global teams to develop part defect reduction strategies and champion AI-driven tools for manufacturing optimization.

What you'll need

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with specialization in Mechanical or Design.
• 8–10 years of professional experience in gas turbine mechanical design, development, and testing.
• Extensive experience designing gas turbine hardware or rotating machinery, with specialized expertise in Hot Gas Path (HGP) and combustion components.
• Knowledge in analytical software including NX and Ansys.
• Demonstrated experience working directly with manufacturing facilities.
• Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), including interpreting engineering drawings and Bills of Materials (BOM).

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience performing Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
• Well-versed in lean manufacturing methodologies.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Manufacturing Process qualifications and process capability.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with leadership and interpersonal capabilities.
