Senior Economic Analyst

Overview

Senior Economic Analyst on the Mastercard Economics Institute (MEI) team covering the European region, creating custom, actionable data insights.

What you'll do

• Explore and analyze Mastercard's large-scale datasets and third-party data using PySpark, SQL, R, and Python to generate relevant insights for MEI
• Visualize insights using Tableau and HTML, and support the development of compelling narratives for tailored presentations
• Contribute to outlooks and blog-style research notes utilizing unique economic data
• Assist in creating content to represent Mastercard in customer forums and industry events
• Work with the data scientists and consulting teams to explore alternative data sets and forecasting using big data
• Help drive the story creation for tailored presentations

What you'll need

• A trained data analyst or data scientist with 3-4 years of professional experience, or a Master's degree or higher in data science, economics or a related field, along with 2+ years of hands-on data analysis experience
• Experience with SQL, R, Python, Tableau and other analytical tools
• Strong collaborator across teams within the institute and broader Mastercard
• Evidence of both orthodox and experimental approaches in economic thinking and application with an entrepreneurial mindset
• Manage complex projects and timelines effectively
• Ability to write concise, compelling narratives
