Senior Engineer – Design Engineering

Overview

Senior Design Engineer supporting production and field activities for geared turbofan and operational commercial engines. The role focuses on mechanical systems, externals and nacelles design in Bengaluru.

What you'll do

• Develop design solutions within program schedule milestones.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary Integrated Product Teams.
• Apply technical processes and design requirements to gas turbine hardware.
• Use solid modeling and analysis tools for design work.
• Apply standard work and root cause corrective action to improve processes.
• Communicate program status, risks and metrics to leadership.

What you'll need

• Master’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 6+ years of relevant experience, or a bachelor’s degree with 8+ years.
• Experience with tube, bracket and mounting design.
• Proficiency in Unigraphics, MS Office, Teamcenter and SAP.
• Experience with Siemens NX, GD&T and CAD models.
• Experience evaluating failure modes using DFMEA.
• Proficiency in tolerance stack-ups and relevant ASME standards.
• Strong problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice to have

• Gas turbine and engine externals experience.
• Experience with ANSYS APDL and Workbench.
• Automated design optimization skills.
• Green or Black Belt Six Sigma certification.
