Senior Engineer - Software Development

Overview

Senior Engineer, Software Development responsible for leading the design, maintenance and programming of computer systems and developing, maintaining and enhancing software applications for TransUnion, principally with Microsoft .NET technologies.

What you'll do

• Develop, maintain and enhance software applications principally written in .NET 2.0/3.5/4.0 using C# and VB.NET.
• Mentor and coach team members as required to support high standards.
• Work with the Head of Department and Team Leaders to contribute to continuing department improvement.
• Implement other purposes and roles provided in the Employee’s Employment Contract and other applicable documents.
• Produce and run unit tests for all code changes.
• Participate in frequent code reviews to ensure high quality of changes.
• Develop applications in accordance with approved project methodology, such as Agile (DSDM) or waterfall-type methodologies.
• Participate in the design of new software applications.
• Problem solve and debug complex software systems for defect analysis and fixing.
• Develop and implement methods and procedures for process control, improvements and testing to ensure products and systems are free of flaws and function as designed.
• Design, test and implement products or systems.
• Solve complex problems or problems where precedent may not exist.
• Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
• Review processes and systems to improve, automate and streamline them.
• Provide technical consultancy and knowledge support to the wider business.

What you'll need

• Technical experience with the .NET stack.
• Experience with C#.
• Experience with SQL Database.
• Experience working in a scrum team.

Nice to have

• Azure knowledge or experience.

Details

• Location: Pune.
• Hybrid position involving regular virtual and in-person performance of job responsibilities at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.
• The recruitment and onboarding experience for this role is fully virtual for the time being.
• The role will operate virtually upon hire until TransUnion returns to the office.
