Overview
Lead the Data Platform engineering team developing reliable data services and privacy and governance capabilities that help teams use data responsibly.
What you'll do
- Lead, coach, and grow engineers; support their development and career progression.
- Partner with Product, Design, Engineering, and senior leaders to set a clear quarterly roadmap and deliver it iteratively.
- Guide technical decisions and promote high-quality code, sound engineering practices, and reliable distributed systems.
- Stay close to the work through design and code reviews, incident leadership, on-call participation, and troubleshooting when needed.
- Own processes that improve engineering quality and help the team meet its service-level commitments.
- Partner with recruiting to attract and hire strong engineers.
What you'll need
- 7+ years of software engineering experience, ideally in data platform or infrastructure, including 2+ years in engineering management.
- Experience building, delivering, and operating distributed systems at scale.
- Strong engineering judgment and the ability to foster quality, maintainability, and effective development practices.
- An execution-focused approach: able to work through ambiguity, balance near-term delivery with long-term planning, and turn complex goals into actionable work.
- A hands-on leadership style and willingness to engage in technical work and operational responsibilities.
- Experience leading technical change in a large, fast-moving organization.
- Familiarity with blockchain infrastructure, such as Bitcoin or Ethereum.
- Clear communication, ownership, and a strong customer focus.
- Utilizes generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
Details
- Remote - India.
- Expect to get together quarterly for intense in-person working sessions called “surges.”
- On-call participation and operational responsibilities are part of the role.
