Senior Engineering Manager, Grafana Frontend | USA | Remote

Overview

Lead the Frontend Platform and Navigation engineering squads, owning team performance, delivery, technical direction and customer outcomes.

What you'll do

• Lead and develop two distributed engineering squads.
• Own hiring, team planning, delivery milestones and risk management.
• Partner with Product, Design and engineering leaders on priorities and trade-offs.
• Shape roadmaps using customer, community and usage insights.
• Set engineering direction for frontend foundations, navigation, search and resource organisation.
• Lead adoption of AI and automation across engineering and operational workflows.
• Participate in the engineering management on-call rota and improve recurring incident response.

What you'll need

• Significant experience managing senior engineers and developing technical leaders.
• Strong foundation in modern web or frontend systems.
• Experience turning cross-team problems into priorities and measurable results.
• Strong product and customer judgement.
• Clear written communication and ability to work in a remote, globally distributed organisation.
• Practical experience using AI and automation in leadership work.

Nice to have

• Experience with React, TypeScript or comparable frontend ecosystems.
• Experience leading developer platform teams supporting plugins or extensions.
• Experience with navigation, search or information architecture products.
• Experience delivering multitenant SaaS or platform migrations.
• Experience working on a widely adopted open-source product.

Details

• Remote role for applicants in the USA, currently limited to EST time zones.
• Base compensation: USD 208,602–250,322 yearly.
