Senior Java Principal Engineer, Markets Payment Platform

Overview

Lead the strategic design, hands-on development, and delivery of a cloud-native payment platform for the Markets business. Manage global engineering teams while driving architecture, delivery, technical standards, and people development.

What you'll do

• Design and develop scalable, resilient cloud-native payment solutions.
• Manage engineering teams across global locations.
• Conduct performance evaluations, hiring decisions, and disciplinary actions.
• Coach and mentor engineers to build high-performing teams.
• Set engineering standards and improve development practices.
• Influence senior stakeholders across business, operations, and technology.
• Manage technology risk, compliance, accountability, and control escalation.

What you'll need

• 14+ years of relevant software engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java application development.
• Experience with Angular or React for front-end development.
• Knowledge of cloud-native technologies and distributed systems architecture.
• Experience managing global engineering teams and complex technology delivery.
• Understanding of Agile development frameworks.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree.
