Overview
Lead backend engineering for transportation platform capabilities, re-architecting systems for global scalability and overseeing a team of 8–10 engineers in India.
What you'll do
- Lead, hire, and develop an engineering team of 8–10.
- Drive re-architecture of transportation systems for global use cases.
- Translate complex problems into technical designs and execution plans.
- Own end-to-end delivery with planning, tracking, and outcome management.
- Manage risks, mitigation, and stakeholder communication.
- Build scalable event-driven systems processing tens of millions of daily transactions.
- Collaborate with global teams on large-scale initiatives.
What you'll need
- 8+ years of software engineering experience.
- 3+ years of engineering management experience.
- Strong Java backend and distributed systems expertise.
- Experience managing teams of 10+ engineers through the full development lifecycle.
- Experience with MySQL, Aurora, TiDB, and DynamoDB.
- Experience with Kafka, Flink, or Spark.
- BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
Nice to have
- Experience in e-commerce, transportation, logistics, or platform engineering.
- Experience building globally scalable systems.
- Experience hiring and scaling engineering teams in high-growth environments.
Details
- Location: Bengaluru.
- Hybrid work model.
- At least three days per week in the office, with up to two days working from home depending on role requirements.
