Senior Manager, Software Engineering - Web (Ads Customer Interface)

Overview

Lead and grow Roku Ads Engineering’s Customer Interface (ACI) engineering team responsible for customer-facing web applications and related API services.

What you'll do

• Lead and grow a high-performing engineering team to execute product and technical roadmaps.
• Hire, develop, and train engineering professionals to deliver business objectives.
• Set clear, measurable objectives for the team and individuals.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define goals, requirements, and scope.
• Provide technical guidance and ensure informed decisions remove project impediments.
• Ensure high-quality software delivery using validation and verification testing cycles.
• Communicate project status, risks, and outcomes to senior management.
• Foster continuous learning, including active adoption of AI tools in software engineering.

What you'll need

• Experience managing a team, including hiring, onboarding, and professional development.
• Overall 16+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
• At least 5+ years leading and managing technology teams.
• Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) across design, architecture, development, testing, and deployment.
• Proven ability to guide technical tradeoffs based on changing business priorities.
• Experience with code review, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and performance optimizations.
• Demonstrated team leadership in hiring, training, retaining, and mentoring.
• History of stakeholder collaboration with product managers, designers, and senior leadership.

• Work model: teams generally work in the office Monday through Thursday; Fridays are generally flexible for remote work with role/location exceptions.
