Overview
Design mechanical components and systems for power transformers as part of an international design and engineering team at the Global Engineering Center in Vadodara, India.
What you'll do
- Generate transformer tanks and externals meeting factory limitations, guidelines, checklists, and IEEE, IEC, and IS standards.
- Prepare customer documents, manufacturing drawings, bills of materials, and other project deliverables for submission according to the project schedule.
- Coordinate design activities within a worldwide factory network.
- Participate in internal design concept reviews.
- Speak with and work together with technical teams in different parts of the world.
- Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
- Take responsibility for your own actions while caring for colleagues and the business.
What you'll need
- B.E. or B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
- 9 to12 years of experience working in Mechanical design for the Power Transformers manufacturing Industry.
- Knowledge of CAD software and any 3D Modelling software.
- Understanding of Transformer Design, Mechanical Calculations, Dielectrics, clearance/creepage, basic layout, and cleats lead arrangement.
- Good understanding of IS, IEC, IEEE, and Canadian Standards.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and tools.
- Proficiency in both spoken and written English language.
- Ability to speak with and work together with technical teams in different parts of the world.

- Creo and PLM experience.
- Experience in winding design and tank and externals.
- Good experience of standardization.
- Demonstrated team building skills.
