Mechanical Design Engineer

Overview

Mechanical Design Engineer role based in Bangalore, focused on designing and improving mechanical tooling and fixtures for manufacturing and engineering workflows.

What you'll do

• Independently identify, diagnose, and resolve complex mechanical tooling and fixture challenges.
• Use UG/NX to perform 3D modeling, detailed design, and drafting.
• Conduct engineering analyses for mechanical systems, tooling, and fixtures and make recommendations.
• Design and implement custom mechanical tooling and fixturing for manufacturing and handling operations.
• Define test requirements and document engineering test plans and reports.
• Lead mechanical design and tooling projects from concept through implementation and collaborate with suppliers.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s degree (minimum qualification).
• 8-12 years of experience (minimum qualification).
• Demonstrated CAD experience and ability in sheet metal design and/or manufacturing methods.
• Experience with material selection and GD&T (where relevant).
• Experience with design for excellence principles (where relevant).

Nice to have

• Knowledge of the Applied Materials product life cycle, including prototyping, packaging, material selection, and manufacturing methods.
• Any SPM background.
