Senior PHP/Wordpress Developer

Overview

Senior PHP/WordPress developer role on Fever's engineering team, building and maintaining Fever services and the Secret Media Network digital media sites.

What you'll do

• Take charge of architecture design and implementation for complex problems.
• Create production-grade PHP code capable of handling high levels of traffic, with a keen eye on functionality and product enhancement.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders to define and prioritize product development.
• Collaborate in hackdays or hackathons with other teams.
• Assume responsibilities for various system components, analyzing user interactions and evolving the platform to meet their needs.
• Participate in launching large scale initiatives, from inception to production.
• Ideate and implement initiatives to ensure system performance and reliability.
• Mentor fellow team members through code reviews, architecture design sessions, and pair programming.
• Engage in team-building activities, fostering a cohesive engineering team spirit.

What you'll need

• Deep knowledge of WordPress, PHP and the Symfony framework.
• Ability to create and modify WordPress plugins and themes.
• Experience handling several WordPress sites.
• Experience working with databases such as MySQL.
• Experience working through cross-browser compatibility issues.
• Highly productive, self-starter and self-motivated.
• Comply with defined coding standards.
• Proficient in business English.

Nice to have

• Know how to create WP plugins and themes from scratch.
• Systems knowledge (cache, load balancers, ...).
• Familiarity with JIRA.

• Location: Remote Spain.
• Home office friendly (based in Spain).
• Salary range: 35 - 50k.
