Senior Product Manager - APAC

Overview

Own the development and oversight of loan and overdraft products across India, broader Asia and the Middle East within the Investment Banking Origination team, acting as business product owner for the region at Vice President level.

What you'll do

• Develop and execute product strategy for financial products and services offered within the wholesale division.
• Identify investment opportunities and customer needs to create new products or enhance existing ones.
• Manage the entire product lifecycle, including product planning, development, launch and ongoing management, including oversight of service levels.
• Analyse market data to make informed decisions regarding product positioning and pricing.
• Assess and manage risks associated with lending products and implement risk mitigation strategies, including operating and attending governance forums.
• Oversee regulatory and technological change.
• Coordinate new product approvals and perform annual product reviews.
• Act as the business product owner in the region to help prioritise technology and process changes.
• Work closely with Operations and Technology on the rollout of the strategic loan platform across the region.
• Work closely with loan originators and broader stakeholders across the region.
• Plan resources, budgets and policies; manage and maintain policies and processes; deliver continuous improvements and escalate breaches of policies or procedures.
• Advise key stakeholders, including functional leadership teams and senior management, on functional and cross-functional areas of impact and alignment.
• Demonstrate leadership and accountability for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work of your team.

• Vice President level candidate with strong product management, business analysis, stakeholder management and loan product knowledge.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Strong business analysis skills, including the ability to capture key requirements.
• Strong bilateral and syndicated loan product knowledge.
• Strong communication, relationship management and networking skills.

• Ability to capture key requirements and summarise them into management-style presentations and proposals.
• Ability to challenge existing ways of working and drive process improvements.

Nice to have

• Good presentation and PowerPoint skills.
• Understanding of process design, optimisation and ownership, with a focus on client outcomes and operational effectiveness.
• Exposure to product ownership models within complex, multi-stakeholder organisations.
• Understanding of regulatory requirements and controls within lending processes.
• Experience working in agile or hybrid delivery environments.

• Role sits with the Investment Banking Origination team in Mumbai and reports jointly to the Global Head of Loan Product Management and the Global Head of Loan Transformation.
