Job description

Overview

LiveKit is hiring its first Product Operations Manager to design and run the operating system of a small, senior product team as it scales. The role serves the PMs and head of product, making their planning, roadmap, goals, launches, customer insight and team growth faster and better.

What you'll do

  • Run the product team's operating cadence, including planning cycles, reviews and recurring updates: what each is for, who attends, what goes in and out.
  • Capture decisions and follow-ups so they are visible to everyone who needs them, and retire or reshape rituals that no longer earn their time.
  • Own the roadmap as a system, structured at the right altitude for engineering teams, leadership and sales, and keep it current.
  • Run goal-setting for the product team so every goal is measurable against a clear source of truth, and track progress through the quarter.
  • With the data team, own the reporting the product team and leadership rely on, and flag drift early.
  • Maintain lightweight shared standards for each step from problem framing through launch, including problem briefs, launch readiness, product stage definitions and release notes.
  • With marketing, run the internal side of every launch so each ships with docs, pricing and go-to-market ready.
  • Own the customer insight engine: a research repository, a continuous pipeline of customer conversations set up with sales and success, and a steady synthesis of feedback from sales, support, surveys and deals.
  • Own onboarding for new PMs, ongoing training, the community of practice, and help shape how PMs are hired and leveled.
  • Choose and run the product team's tools, from roadmapping and analytics to AI, so PMs get real leverage from them.
  • Partner with the head of product to find where the team is stuck and improve the product org every quarter.

What you'll need

  • 6+ years of experience.
  • At least 3 years in product operations or a closely related role (chief of staff to a product leader, product program management, product strategy and operations) supporting a product team.
  • Experience designing a product team's operating cadence from scratch at a company that was scaling.
  • Strong writing skills, since most of the role's output is templates, updates, plans and documentation.
  • Data fluency: defining metrics, working in BI tools, and judging whether a number is trustworthy.
  • Technical enough to be credible with engineers at a developer-focused, engineering-led company, without needing to write code.
  • Ability to influence without authority, with high-autonomy engineering teams.
  • Heavy, practical use of AI tools in your own work and the ability to help others do the same.

Nice to have

  • Product operations experience at a developer tools, API, infrastructure or AI company.
  • Ran quarterly planning or OKRs for a product organization.
  • Built a research repository or a customer recruiting program for B2B research.
  • Built a PM onboarding program or career ladder.
  • Worked with go-to-market teams on launch readiness and product stage definitions.
  • Experience as a product manager.
  • SQL skills.
