Senior Security Engineer – Palo Alto Technologies

Overview

Senior Security Engineer role focused on engineering and maintaining The Hartford’s Palo Alto security platforms, including firewall and related technologies. You will also support operational metrics, patching, and risk assessment activities.

What you'll do

• Engineer and maintain Palo Alto platforms, including firewall, web filtering, SSL decryption, and system support.
• Support technical design, implementation, and operational support of firewall and related technologies across on-prem data center and cloud deployments.
• Provide production/system support and handle ad-hoc security consulting requests.
• Consult with business and vendor partners on network connectivity dependencies and firewall authorizations.
• Support application areas with inquiries about policy controls.
• Assess severity and potential impact of risks and communicate findings to risk owners.
• Develop dashboards for ongoing analytics and metrics.

What you'll need

• 3+ years supporting Palo Alto firewall/technologies.
• Experience implementing and supporting Palo Alto technologies in a cloud environment.
• Experience with both AWS and GCP.
• Industry-recognized certifications such as CISSP; AWS security certifications, and Palo Alto certifications are preferred.
• Strong organizational skills to multi-task across shifting priorities.
• A process-oriented mindset with professional, customer-focused support.
• Ability to influence others and communicate objective, fact-based risk decisions.
