Senior Software Engineer

Overview

Takeda is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to help build and integrate digital health products within an agile team.

What you'll do

• Deliver high-quality modern front-end and back-end user experiences using React, Angular, Next.js, and related technologies.
• Build systems of medium-to-high complexity with minimal guidance.
• Develop application code and unit tests, and write unit and integration tests.
• Ensure responsive design and high performance through performance tests and tuning.
• Implement reusable libraries across applications and integrate systems.
• Partner with design for usability/UI-UX and guide teams via code standards and reviews.
• Create architectural diagrams, define system integrations, and communicate technical concepts.

What you'll need

• 5+ years of relevant professional experience in developing software.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related study (or equivalent experience).
• Strong Python programming skills.
• Experience building REST APIs with FastAPI (or Flask/Django REST).
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and REST API design principles.
• Familiarity with Kafka for streaming/event-driven architectures and system integrations.
• Proficiency in English (verbal and written) is required.

What you'll need

• Hands-on experience developing solutions on AWS is a big advantage.
