Senior Software Engineer, Backend

Overview

Senior Backend Software Engineer role focused on building and improving backend services for availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency.

What you'll do

• Design and write Go code to improve service availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency.
• Collaborate on new architectures for large-scale performance.
• Participate in code and design reviews.
• Support service capacity and demand planning, performance analysis, tuning, and optimization.
• Build and scale backend services with the infrastructure team and run root cause analysis.
• Debug and resolve production incidents during on-call shifts.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship; collaborate with product and business teams on feature specifications.

What you'll need

• At least 7 years of relevant experience plus a bachelor’s degree or advanced degree.
• Proficiency in Golang, including syntax, semantics, standard libraries, concurrency features, and optimization.
• Experience with RDBMS technologies such as MySQL and PostgreSQL, including performance, query tuning, and reliability.
• Familiarity with AWS or GCP and designing scalable microservices.
• Expertise in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and AWS CloudFormation, including infrastructure automation.
• Strong development practices including TDD, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Delivery with Git, Jenkins, and unit testing frameworks.
