Overview
Senior Frontend Software Engineer for Addepar’s AI Platform team, building and scaling real-time, conversational AI product interfaces.
What you'll do
- Design and implement complex, real-time UI features for conversational interfaces (chat streaming, incremental rendering, dynamic layouts).
- Build high-performance WebSocket pipelines for streamed deltas, retries, and backpressure handling.
- Optimize scrolling and rendering performance using browser and rendering techniques.
- Implement fault-tolerant UI logic for reconnection, cancellation, offline recovery, and retries.
- Architect state management and caching strategies to keep local UI consistent with backend deltas.
- Instrument client-side telemetry and performance metrics (render latency, streaming lag, interaction speed).
- Mentor teammates through design reviews and pair programming to contribute to shared components.
What you'll need
- At least 5 years of professional frontend development experience in a production environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering (or equivalent practical experience).
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript and deep understanding of asynchronous browser behavior.
- Experience integrating real-time or streaming data into user interfaces.
- Strong debugging and performance profiling skills.
- Experience with Svelte, React, or another component-based modern UI framework.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills.
