Senior Software Engineer - Tooling & Automation

Overview

Senior Software Engineer responsible for integrating engineering alerting with Vultr's Global Integrated Operations Command Center and building a unified operational dashboard.

What you'll do

• Map alert sources across Systems, Network, and Security engineering.
• Build alert routing into ticketing and paging tools.
• Validate routing logic with engineering subject-matter experts.
• Own on-call and notification wiring against acknowledgment SLAs.
• Build a unified dashboard across five datacenter and provider platforms.
• Develop SLA, health, and alert-aging visualizations.
• Document routing architecture and dashboard operations.

What you'll need

• 5–8 years in Tools/Platform Engineering or a similar infrastructure role.
• 3–5 years of hands-on monitoring and alerting experience.
• Experience with Icinga or equivalent NMS, Grafana, and at least one SIEM platform.
• 3+ years building API or webhook integrations.
• Scripting ability in Python or a similar language.
• 2–3 years building or substantially modifying operational dashboards.
• Understanding of ticketing and ITSM workflow tools.

Nice to have

• Experience with multi-provider or multi-datacenter operational environments.
• Experience supporting or building for a NOC, SOC, or similar 24x7 operations function.

Details

• Remote in the United States.
• Compensation: $125,000–$135,000 per year.
