Overview
Senior Forward Deployed Engineer, Applied AI is an AI-first engineering role working directly with GP clients to design, build, deploy, and operate custom AI agents end to end.
What you'll do
- Work with GP clients to find workflows where custom agents create leverage.
- Run discovery and translate ambiguous business problems into requirements, scoping, and acceptance criteria.
- Deliver solutions across the full lifecycle from prototype and validation through deployment and rollout.
- Design and build agentic systems including retrieval/context design, tool/MCP integration, orchestration, evaluation harnesses, and production observability and cost controls.
- Operate independently on client-edge solutions and coordinate with platform/product engineering where work touches core systems.
- Own deployed solutions through adoption, post-launch support, iteration on feedback, and ongoing operation.
- Produce documentation, train users, and manage rollouts to drive adoption.
What you'll need
- 5+ years of professional experience shipping production software end to end with hands-on AI-enabled application development.
- Experience owning delivery so you were accountable for shipping and whether it got used.
- Ability to translate ambiguous needs into requirements and deliver working software.
- Full-stack engineering capability across data, services, UIs, and underlying infrastructure.
- Hands-on infrastructure ownership on a major cloud provider, including containers, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and production monitoring.
- Direct experience working with external clients/customers for scoping and managing the relationship.
- Fluency with AI-assisted development and depth to understand, debug, and defend what you ship.
