Senior Systems/ Software Engineer (Python Automation, L2/L3 Features, SONiC NOS)

Overview

Senior Systems/Software Engineer responsible for testing and validating SONiC network operating system functionality, L2/L3 networking features, and Broadcom-based switching platforms.

What you'll do

• Design and execute SONiC test plans on Broadcom-based switching platforms.
• Validate BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, EVPN, QinQ, and multicast features.
• Test SAI integration and ASIC driver behavior.
• Automate functional, regression, scale, and performance tests with Python and Robot Framework.
• Debug issues across ASIC, NOS, and control/data plane layers.
• Contribute fixes and enhancements to the SONiC open-source community.
• Validate optical modules, breakout configurations, and transceiver management protocols.

What you'll need

• 10 years of experience in network software or hardware testing.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of L2/L3 networking protocols and switch/router architecture.
• Hands-on experience with SONiC NOS and SAI-based architectures.
• Proficiency in Python and Robot Framework.
• Knowledge of SONiC architecture, including SAI, FRR, Redis DB, Docker, and Minigraph.
• Experience with Git, Jenkins, traffic generators, and lab-based testbeds.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with SDKLT or OpenNSL.
• Contributions to SONiC or other open-source networking projects.
• Exposure to telemetry, gNMI, OpenConfig, and YANG/Netconf/REST API testing.
