Senior Technical Architect

Overview

Serve as a Senior Technical Architect providing technical leadership for multiple large-scale, complex global software solutions in the Commercial Cards technology organization.

What you'll do

• Provide technical leadership for multiple large-scale, complex global software solutions.
• Utilize applications development procedures and concepts, basic knowledge of other technical areas, script tools, and code analysis to identify and define necessary system enhancements.
• Consult with users, clients, and other technology groups on issues, recommend programming solutions, and install and support customer exposure systems.
• Apply knowledge of programming languages to design specifications.
• Analyze applications to identify vulnerabilities and security issues, and conduct testing and debugging.
• Serve as an advisor or coach to new or lower-level analysts.
• Identify problems, analyze information, and make evaluative judgments to recommend and implement solutions.
• Resolve issues by identifying and selecting solutions through acquired technical experience and guided by precedents.
• Track and run projects in Agile.
• Develop teams of permanent employees and vendors from 5–20 developers in size.
• Drive discussions between Business, Solutions, Operations, and Application Teams.
• Assess risk when business decisions are made, drive compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhere to policy, apply sound ethical judgment, and escalate, manage, and report control issues with transparency.
• Provide quick turnaround to software issues and management requests.
• Assimilate key issues and concepts and come up to speed quickly.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in leading globally distributed teams successfully.
• Project management, interpersonal, and communication skills, with high attention to minute details.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented analysis and design, design patterns, high availability, and concurrent programming.
• Strong understanding of Agile projects and Agile ceremonies.
• Demonstrated excellent software development skills.
• Strong experience implementing Java, J2EE, Spring framework, AI Tools usage, Angular, and React.
• Experience building enterprise transaction-based systems with focus on recovery, stability, reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Deep understanding of and extensive experience developing microservices/APIs using Spring Boot.
• Solid understanding of and experience integrating Web Services.
• Strong experience in JPA.
• Knowledge of containerization.
• Experience using tools for service registry and service discovery, such as Eureka and API-Gateway.
• Experience using tools for log visualization.
• Hands-on experience with Test Driven Development, including JUnit/Mockito/etc.
• Experience in application security.
• Experience designing complex applications on a microservices platform.
• Experience building multithreaded applications and troubleshooting complex related issues.
• Experience working on JMS/MQ applications.
• Experience working with multiple operating systems: Unix, Linux, and Windows.
• Experience developing SOA and writing/consuming web services.
• Experience developing solutions involving ETL and Big Data concepts.
• Experience performance tuning large technical solutions with significant volumes.
• Experience with UI/web programming languages such as JavaScript, JSP, and Angular.
• Strong database experience with DB2, Oracle, and SQL.
• Knowledge of web security frameworks.
• Experience tracking and running projects in Agile.
• Experience developing teams of permanent employees and vendors from 5–20 developers in size.
• Strong stakeholder management experience to drive discussions between Business, Solutions, Operations, and Application Teams.
• Ability to build a comprehensive understanding of project stakeholders, subject matter, and priorities.
• Leadership and strong communication skills.
• Strong customer service focus and the ability to communicate with highly technical management teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, both technical and functional.

Nice to have

• Understanding of internetworking concepts, firewalls, and communication protocols.
• Good understanding of the credit card industry and the functions of HSM and different types of keys.
