Senior Test Automation Engineer

Overview

Senior Test Automation Engineer to build and maintain automated test coverage for a global HR and payroll B2B SaaS platform.

What you'll do

• Design, implement, and maintain automated end-to-end tests across UI, API, and third-party integrations.
• Own regression testing, exploratory testing, and production validation for critical workflows.
• Embed shift-left testing practices in sprint planning, story refinement, and design reviews.
• Build and maintain E2E and component tests using Playwright or Cypress.
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines for developer feedback.
• Test API coverage using Postman and REST-assured, including event-driven workflows.

What you'll need

• 4+ years of hands-on test automation experience in production software environments.
• Strong TypeScript skills for clean, readable, extensible test code.
• Experience with Playwright or Cypress for E2E UI/API testing.
• Familiarity with Zod or similar runtime schema-validation libraries.
• Hands-on experience with STLC testing patterns and architectures (e.g., Page Object Model, fixtures/factories, data-driven testing).
• API testing experience with Postman and/or REST-assured for RESTful and event-driven interfaces.
• Experience with bug tracking and test management tools (Jira and Xray or equivalent).

Nice to have

• Experience in payroll, fintech, or other compliance-heavy domains.
• Understanding of contract testing concepts and tools.
• Exposure to security and privacy testing (e.g., GDPR, SOC 2 readiness).
• Familiarity with performance/load testing tools (e.g., k6, JMeter, Gatling).
• Experience with observability/production monitoring tools (e.g., Datadog, Grafana, Sentry).
• Comfort working in distributed, asynchronous teams across multiple time zones.
• Familiarity with Jenkins configuration and pipeline authoring.
