Overview
Join the Airworthiness & Certification - Services team in Bengaluru as an engineer who can be trained as a Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE) / Designated Airworthiness Engineer (DAE) for Repair Airworthiness Approval. The role covers airworthiness approval of repair solutions for the Airbus in-service fleet across civil programs and ATAs.
What you'll do
- Take responsibility for technical development and undergo training to achieve delegation on time.
- Provide airworthiness approval of in-service repair solutions supported by the Repair and Design Approval Form (RDAF), under the legal privileges granted by EASA to Airbus in full compliance with Part 21.
- Review repair dossiers from Customer Services, appraise repair designs, verify compliance with applicable requirements as CVE when relevant, and approve repairs as DAE or communicate specific refusal to Customer Support.
- Verify the correctness of repair design justification, check possible unsafe conditions, and report airworthiness issues to the Repair Approval Manager and relevant Chief Airworthiness Engineer (CAE).
- Manage AMOC acceptance dossiers with the CAE and the Authorities when required.
- Communicate with Customer Services and answer customers in a timely manner.
- Act as an airworthiness specialist in a multifunctional team to solve Aircraft on Ground (AOG) situations when requested.
- Report issues to support the head of repair approval with training, reporting, or improvement on repair approval.
- Verify that events relative to airworthiness are reported by In-service occurrence and report airworthiness issues to a Chief Airworthiness Engineer.
What you'll need
- Graduate or Post Graduate Engineer in Aerospace or a related discipline.
- 6 - 13 years of experience.
- Fluency in English and the ability to communicate and negotiate at all levels.
- Proven experience in structures or systems or both, preferably on Airbus products.
- An integrated view of aircraft design, operation, and maintenance.
- Technical competence in the design principles used in compliance data.
- Substantial experience either as a Stress and F&DT engineer for the structures repair approval path or as an Aircraft systems design engineer for the systems approval path, in defining and certifying structures or systems, ideally to a technical signatory level.
- Flexibility and adaptability, along with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team player.
- Awareness of potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity.
Nice to have
- Exposure to SRM, NTM, SB, AD, AMM, CDL, and MMEL.
- Knowledge in configuration management.
- Experience on Airbus products.
- Experience to a technical signatory level.
