Services Specialist

Overview

Services Specialist on GE Vernova's Software Integration Team, setting up GE Vernova software in different environments for internal and external customers and supporting project activities across the full project lifecycle.

What you'll do

• Install, configure and troubleshoot software applications.
• Customize software solutions.
• Install and configure databases.
• Implement systems and perform acceptance tests on site with the customer.
• Perform integration testing to identify whether issues are solution configuration issues or product defects.
• Support the Design Team for AEMS/ADMS systems.
• Take end-to-end responsibility for the software system integration part of large and complex IT projects in electrical grid Transmission, Distribution and Market, meeting schedule, cost and quality commitments.
• Participate in the project lifecycle: Development, Factory Acceptance Tests, Site Acceptance Tests, Cutover and Support.
• Ensure a smooth transfer to maintenance of ending projects through coordinated knowledge transfer, and provide back-end support to the maintenance team when part of the maintenance contract.
• Comply with and contribute to Quality Procedures, work instructions and Processes in the Quality Management System, and report or resolve process non-conformances in a timely manner.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and change management initiatives (cost base reduction, lead time reduction, DevOps framework, productivity and quality improvement).
• Monitor effort performance measurement indicators.
• Demonstrate proper safety behavior, observe work conditions, and promote hazard identification and near-miss reporting.

What you'll need

• Engineer, master's or bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
• Experience minimum 0-2 years.
• Ideal subjects: Computer Science, IT Networking, Software Integration and Deployment.
• Basic knowledge of software systems integration, development, testing and commissioning.
• Basic technical knowledge of Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 and/or RHEL 7/8 configuration and administration.
• Basic knowledge of software configuration and deployment management.
• Scripting development with any of the following: PowerShell, Perl, Python, batch or bash.
• Relational databases: SQLServer or Oracle.
• Troubleshooting skills.
• Fluent in English.
• Ability and willingness to travel.
