Software Dev Senior Engineer

Overview

Own the reliability, scalability, and operational excellence of cloud-based services as a Software Dev Senior Engineer focused on SRE and database reliability.

What you'll do

• Lead on-call response, incident triage, and service-degradation communications.
• Define and refine SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs for critical services.
• Own monitoring, alerting, and error-management practices.
• Design observability platforms covering metrics, logging, and distributed tracing.
• Reduce operational toil through automation and engineering.
• Lead chaos engineering, postmortems, and corrective-action tracking.
• Improve incident processes, production-readiness reviews, and reliability practices.

What you'll need

• 5+ years of experience in database scaling, performance, reliability, and connection-pool optimization.
• 5+ years of experience designing database high availability and failover strategies.
• 3+ years of hands-on SRE experience, including SLO and error-budget ownership.
• 4+ years of experience with cloud platforms, including required GCP CloudSQL experience.
• Experience with database capacity planning, load testing, and performance benchmarking at scale.
• Experience managing PostgreSQL, Redis, or other database systems.
• CS degree or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Google SRE principles and the Google SRE Book.
• Experience with Terraform, AWS CDK, Python, Shell, Kubernetes, and observability tools.
• Experience handling customer-facing production issues and distributed-team collaboration.
