Overview
Software Development Engineer III working in a cross-functional pod to design, orchestrate, validate, and ship software with AI as a primary collaborator.
What you'll do
- Own the full software delivery lifecycle (design through production and measurement) with quality responsibility.
- Work in continuous flow using Kanban, pulling work within WIP limits and shipping daily.
- Use AI agents for delivery across code generation, testing, spec writing, and deployment.
- Design, build, and debug backend and frontend systems with distributed systems awareness.
- Evaluate and tune agent workflows by adjusting steering documents, prompts, rules, and skills.
- Act as the initial on-call responder for deployed application health and stability.
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to shared tooling and knowledge resources.
What you'll need
- Strong proficiency in at least one of Java/Spring Boot, Python, .NET, Go, or Angular.
- Ability to learn and work with other technologies using AI.
- Strong foundation in engineering fundamentals including distributed systems, data structures, API design, database concepts, and cloud computing.
- Experience with clean code practices, TDD, CI/CD, and version control.
- Experience with application monitoring, observability, and production debugging.
- Familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
- Proficiency using AI-assisted development tools for code generation, pair programming, and automated testing.
Nice to have
- Contributions to shared tooling, internal platforms, or open-source projects.
- Background in regulated industries such as gaming, financial services, or healthcare.
