Software Development Engineer - III

Overview

Build and lead a reliable, scalable crawl platform that provides a unified data base across all CommerceIQ product lines, spanning distributed systems, service architecture, monitoring, workflow orchestration and developer experience.

What you'll do

• Define and drive technical strategy, collaborating with managers to prioritize and shape the team's roadmap.
• Lead high-impact projects, handling ambiguous problem statements and delivering scalable solutions.
• Own system design and architecture, ensuring reliability, observability, and best practices.
• Mentor and lead engineers, fostering growth, technical excellence, and high-quality execution.
• Bridge cross-functional gaps, coordinating between stakeholders to align on technical decisions.
• Review designs, documents, and PRs, maintaining high code and system quality.
• Develop a deep understanding of the platforms, ensuring comprehensive ownership.
• Get hands dirty with coding and deep dives.

What you'll need

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering.
• 3+ years of experience in leading small to medium-sized teams.
• Expertise in scalable, distributed systems with strong problem-solving skills.
• Hands-on experience with observability, developer experience, and performance optimizations.
• Strong ability to navigate ambiguity, break down complex problems, and drive solutions.
• Measure success by the impact you create, not by the lines of code you ship.
• Take charge and act as a human orchestrator, connecting different stakeholders and team members when required.
• High level of independence, able to function independently and collaboratively.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of AWS, Spark, Databases, Streaming, Containers, Kubernetes.
• Data-intensive application experience (ETL/ELT).
