Software Development in Test (Python, OOPS, networking, system design | 7-13 years)

Overview

Software Development in Test role focused on building and enhancing validation frameworks for Cisco Silicon One ASICs and networking platforms.

What you'll do

• Develop and enhance the core hardware validation framework for Cisco Silicon One ASICs.
• Design and automate end-to-end validation tests across hardware, simulation, and CI/CD environments.
• Build scalable, reliable test frameworks using modern software design principles.
• Validate networking features including packet processing, QoS, ACLs, warm boot, and multi-device topologies.
• Own hardware smoke and regression testing across releases.
• Debug complex hardware and software issues to drive root cause analysis and resolution.
• Support bring-up and validation of new Silicon One ASICs and networking platforms.

What you'll need

• 7-12 years of experience in software development and testing.
• Strong Python and test-automation skills (pytest, CI, large test matrices).
• Networking fundamentals knowledge (L2/L3, ACLs, QoS/meters, tunnels, multicast, packet forwarding).
• System design expertise to architect evolving validation platforms with clear boundaries.
• Proficiency in system design patterns and scalable modular reusable components.
• Comfort working close to hardware (lab boards, SerDes, port bring-up, long-running HW regressions).

Nice to have

• Experience with Cisco Silicon One SDK, NPL, SAI, traffic generators (TGEN), or carrier/web-scale networking platforms.
