Software Engineer 2 - Abnormal Data Platform

Overview

Software Engineer II (Backend) on the Federated Intelligence Platform team for Abnormal Data Platform in India. The role focuses on scalable ingestion, low-latency backend services, and reliability across federated data for detection and a customer portal.

What you'll do

• Build performant APIs as sources of truth for multiple systems.
• Develop high-throughput, low-latency systems processing 100s of millions of events per day.
• Establish and maintain data pipelines for regularly updated, reliable data.
• Enhance frameworks to make API and dataset changes in an agile manner.
• Own complex feature delivery end-to-end from design through production.
• Set and own SLAs/SLOs and drive improvements for reliability.
• Provide operational support, including participation in on-call rotations.

What you'll need

• 3+ years of overall software engineering experience.
• Experience building and operating highly scalable, highly available distributed systems.
• Experience with data pipelines (event-driven and synchronous).
• 1 year of experience designing complex distributed systems.
• Proven expertise with Kafka or comparable high-throughput messaging/streaming platforms.
• Hands-on experience with OpenSearch and/or DynamoDB and large-scale search/indexing.
• Background in production observability using Grafana or Prometheus and experience with on-call rotations.
